Faculty
Confucius, the Father of Chinese Philosophy, is an inspiration to faculty members at the Midwest College. Principles in the "Great Learning" stress personal effort from students that is supported with individual attention by instructors. This is a model we all aspire to follow.
Robin Anderson, B.F.A., M.S.O.M., is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the Midwest College. Ms. Anderson is a clinic supervisor.
Virginia Burns, B.S.N, M.B.A., M.S.O.M., is a graduate of the Rush University, the University of Chicago and the Midwest College. Ms. Burns teaches pharmacology and assists in practicum classes.
Michael Buyze, B.S, M.S., M.B.A. Ac.T., is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the Midwest College. He teaches pharmacology.
Robert Chelnick, B.S., Ph.D., L.N.C., is a graduate of University of California. He received his Doctor of Philosophy from the Guangzhou University of TCM. Mr. Chelnick is a Licensed Nutritional Counselor. He teaches philosophy and nutrition classes. Dr. Chelnick is a nutrition clinic supervisor.
Sidong Chen, M.D., M.A., M.S.M., Dipl.Ac. NCCA, received his medical degree from the Zhanjiang medical college in Zhanjiang China. He completed his Master of Science in Chinese medicine at the Jinan University in Guangzhou. Dr. Chen is a Clinic supervisor.
William Dunbar, D.N., M.B., Ph.D., L.N.C., received his Doctorate at the Chicago National College of Naprapathy. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy from the Guangzhou University of TCM. Dr. Dunbar is a licensed Nutrition Counselor and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management. He teaches Practice Management class.
Yoseph Feleke, M.B., recieved his acupuncture education at the Shanghai TCM College and his medical degree at the Second Medical University of Shanghai. Dr. Feleke is a clinic supervisor.
Olga Gajdosik, B.S.N., M.S.O.M., received her nursing degree from Alverno College and her masters from the Midwest College. She is a clinic supervisor.
Barbara Kirt, B.A., M.B., is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and received her Bachelor of Medicine from the Guangzhou Medical University. Ms. Kirt is Internship Director and a clinic supervisor. She is approved to teach the clean needle course needed before Board certification.
Ann Kuhry, B.S., M.B, received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin and her Bachelor of Medicine from the Guangzhou University of TCM. Dr. Kuhry is a clinic supervisor.
Kris LaPoint, M.S.O.M, M.B., Ph.D., received her Masters degree from the Midwest College and her Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy from the Guangzhou University of TCM. Dr. LaPoint teaches Tui Na, assists in Needle and Accessory Technique classes. She is a clinic supervisor.
Chuan Liu, M.B., was on staff at the Heilong Jiang University Hospital for seven years. He was a biomedical experimenter in herbs and brings both clinical and research experience to the Midwest College. He teaches Tui Na and is a clinic supervisor.
Donald Martin, Ac.T., B.S., M.A., D.C., has a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology, a Master in Media Studies from Webster University and a Doctorate in Chiropractic from the National College of Chiropractic. He teaches Anatomy, Physical Assessment, Physiology, Pathology, and Neurology.
Gail McMahon, M.S.O.M., is a graduate of the Midwest College. Ms. McMahon has extensive experince in TCM nutrition and is a nutrition clinic supervisor and teaches treatment strategy.
Wan Joo Rhee, M.S.O.M., is a graduate of the Midwest College. Mr. Rhee is learned in the classics of TCM. He has studied in English, Korean and Chinese language. Mr. Rhee teaches TCM classes.
Leaf Song, M.B., M.M., received her Bachelor of Medicine from the Zhejiang College and her Masters Degree from the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing. She teaches herb classes.
Duckin Suh, M.S.O.M., D.C., is a graduate of the Midwest College nad the National College of Chiropractic. Dr. Suh is a clinic supervisro and point location instructor.
Sandra Sumi, Ac.T., R.N., Ms. Sumi received her nursing degree from the Ravenswood Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago and is a graduate of the Midwest College. She assists in practical classes.
Svetlin Tanev, Ac.T, has a Masters Degree in Education from Sofia University in Bulgaria. He is currently a TCM practitioner at Alternative Medicine Clinic in Chicago. He is well known for integrating bodywork into his TCM practice. He teaches Tui Na and is a clinic supervisor.
Alan Uretz, M.B., received his Bachelor of Medicine from the Guangzhou University. Mr. Uretz is a Tai Chi instructor. He teaches Tui Na, Point Location, Needle Technique and Accessory Technique classes. Dr. Uretz is also a clinic supervisor.
Craig Westerlund, B.S., M.B., Ph.D., received a Bachelors of Science degree in health education from Southern Illinois University and his Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy from the Guangzhou Medical University. He teaches Point Location 1 & 2, Needle Technique 1, 2 & 3, Accessory Technique, and is a clinic supervisor.
Jeannine Westerlund, M.B., Ph.D., received her Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy from the Guangzhou Medical University. She teaches Point Location, Needle Technique, Accessory Technique, and Clinic Review. She is also a clinic supervisor.
