This class covers commonly prescribed medications; their origin, nature, properties, and effects. It introduces students to the information that they will need to better understand how medications may relate to and affect acupuncture treatments. Students will understand the interaction of food and vitamin therapy, herbs and nutritional supplements with pharmaceutical medications. An important outcome of this class is the ability to better communicate with physicians about medications and the overall treatment care plan of a patient.
