All students are required to develop, document, and write a major paper, either an academic, clinical or research paper. Students choose one of the following three options following the format described in the school's Major Paper Manual. Students in the Oriental Medicine program must include herbs and nutrition as part of their paper.
Academic Paper Option - The academic paper option is a graduate level term paper that is compiled from lectures, classroom material and library research. Students submit a topic to their faculty advisor for approval.
Clinical Paper Option - This option builds upon internship experience to demonstrate a further understanding of clinical science. A clinical paper includes comparative pathology, case studies, or an in depth study of a clinical specialty.
Research Paper Option - This option is designed to demonstrate a student's ability to present and analyze data. Projects can collect new information that is pertinent to the field of TCM or compile and analyze published material.
