A study of the nature and cause of disease which involves changes in the structure and function of the human body. This class begins with a review of the normal physiological processes and then discusses how these are altered by disease. Discussions on diagnosis, prognosis and intervention in the pathologies of various systems and organs are studied. Students will be able to recognize pathological indicators and biochemical pathways to better correlate the basic science of pathology with physical diagnosis and disorders related to nutrition. There is emphasis on diseases and pre-existing conditions that may affect Acupuncture treatment.
