Advanced Standing and Transfer
Upon request, the Midwest College will evaluate academic work from accredited schools, completed within the past seven years, to determine transfer credit. Documentation of course content may be required. There is no charge for transfer credit accepted from accredited schools. Transfer credit accepted will decrease the number of hours of study at the Midwest College, the tuition cost and eligibility for financial aid, depending on the amount of transfer credit awarded. Advanced standing usually reduces course load, but usually does not reduce the minimum 27 months for Acupuncture or 36 months in Oriental Medicine required for graduation, unless the student is transferring significant hours from an accredited school.
Applicants with other documents can request a review to determine the right to take proficiency examinations. The normal class tuition applies to proficiency credit based upon documented records of study from unaccredited programs. This will not decrease the number of hours of study required.
All transferring students must attend a minimum of one academic year at the Midwest College. Students transferring from the Midwest College to other schools must consult the other school's Admissions Office regarding transferability of credit.
